Generating Impact Through Corporate Volunteering
We are currently accompanying one of Austria's largest corporations in providing meaningful opportunities for their employees to volunteer as visiting teachers in schools. Right now we are engaging with their employees, thinking about what they require to be effective in those schools.
The Herzgasse Pilot
We brought a fully equipped digital classroom to a school were no-one would have expected it. The school is located in southern Vienna and is of the NMS kind. More than 95% of its students come from low-income families. Like so many other schools of this kind in Vienna, it’s underfunded and understaffed.
We decided that the devices alone won’t do the trick. So we are visiting the school every week and are working closely with teachers there. Will the digital classroom be able to serve as a catalyst for innovative teaching and learning? Will our pilot project show that innovation can occur where it is least expected?
Creating the Classroom of the Future
One of the world's largest manufactures of tablet PCs is working together with 14 Austrian schools, which they have equipped with high-end digital classrooms. We were brought in to build the capacity of the teachers that serve in those schools. What do those teachers need, so that innovative technology translates to innovative teaching and learning?
